Billboard House Unveils Lineup for R&B Hip-Hop Week Panels and Concert

Billboard has announced Billboard House, a series of industry panels taking place in New York on Sept. 9, featuring conversations with The Roots, Jill Scott, Kehlani, and Monaleo, among others. The event will also include a performance by LAILA! and a discussion with Blacc Sam and Bino Rideaux about Nipsey Hussle's legacy. Additionally, the R&B Hip-Hop Live 2026 concert has added singer kwn to its lineup, joining Lucky Daye, Yung Miami, and others at Brooklyn Steel on Sept. 10.
Billboard House, scheduled for Sept. 9 in New York, pairs established acts with emerging talent across multiple panels. The Roots and Jill Scott headline separate conversations, while Kehlani and Monaleo share a “Like Minded” discussion. A dedicated session with Blacc Sam and Bino Rideaux will explore Nipsey Hussle’s enduring influence following the recent release of their collaborative project *PROLIFIC*, which charted at No. 21. The event also includes a performance from 20-year-old LAILA!, whose new single “ANGEL” features Teezo Touchdown.
The following evening, R&B Hip-Hop Live 2026 at Brooklyn Steel adds singer kwn to a bill already featuring Lucky Daye, Yung Miami, Samara Cyn, Skippa, and Destin Conrad. Tickets are on sale now, with the concert sponsored by Rotation, Amazon Music’s R&B and hip-hop division. Billboard CEO Mike Van emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting genre-defining artists and fans.
This event could strengthen the connective tissue between legacy R&B/hip-hop figures and newer voices, potentially boosting visibility for emerging acts like LAILA! and kwn. By pairing industry panels with a live concert, Billboard may deepen fan engagement and offer artists networking opportunities that could shape future collaborations. The focus on Nipsey Hussle’s legacy also may reinforce cultural memory and inspire entrepreneurial narratives within the genre, while the Brooklyn Steel show could drive local economic activity and streaming spikes for the performers involved.
