The update's centerpiece is a public MCP server allowing any external AI assistant to discover and command Sonos hardware, extending the company's earlier integration with Alexa and Google Assistant into the generative AI era. The new Fabric capability uses inaudible high-frequency sounds to detect speaker placement, enabling automatic reconfiguration—such as rear speakers becoming surround channels without manual setup.
