Anker's new sleep earbuds feature a display-equipped charging case
Anker has announced the Soundcore Sleep Earbuds 4 and 4 Pro, designed for side-sleepers with a smaller contact area and improved noise cancellation. The 4 Pro's charging case includes an OLED display for controlling soundscapes, checking sleep stats, and setting alarms without a phone. Both models offer longer battery life and support wireless charging.
The new earbuds build directly on last year's A30 model, which already offered audio masking capable of drowning out a snoring partner. Anker has reduced the contact area by 20 percent to improve comfort for side-sleepers, while upgrading to Bluetooth v6.0 for streaming. Battery life varies by usage: eight hours streaming with active noise cancellation, or 14.5 hours playing local soundscapes with ANC off.
The 4 Pro adds an in-ear PPG sensor for tracking heart rate, HRV, and sleep state, feeding into a BioSync feature that plays adaptive audio to encourage relaxation. Both charging cases now support wireless charging pads, though only the Pro's SleepHub case includes the OLED display for phone-free control.
These earbuds could meaningfully shift how people approach sleep technology, particularly couples dealing with snoring or noisy environments. The display-equipped case may reduce phone dependency at bedtime, potentially improving sleep hygiene by removing screen exposure. However, the premium pricing could limit adoption to affluent consumers, and the reliance on biometric tracking may raise privacy considerations about where sleep data is stored and shared.
