Spanish-Language 'Viva Carmen' Debuts New Music and Clip Ahead of TIFF Bow
Director Sébastien Laudenbach has finished a Spanish-language version of his animated feature 'Viva Carmen,' which premiered at Cannes' Directors' Fortnight. Flamenco vocalist Silvia Pérez Cruz voices the lead and performs original songs written for this edition, including a new track featured in the released clip. The film will have its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Director Sébastien Laudenbach, whose prior credits include "The Girl Without Hands" and the co-directed "Chicken for Linda!", has crafted this Spanish adaptation. The original cut debuted at Cannes' Directors' Fortnight earlier this year.
Flamenco vocalist Silvia Pérez Cruz takes on the title role, contributing original music for this version. Her recent work includes a collaboration with Rosalía on "La Rumba del Perdón" from the album "Lux."
