Singapore Furniture Brand Castlery Debuts Its First American Showroom in Manhattan

Castlery, a Singaporean furniture and decor brand, has opened its first U.S. flagship store in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, spanning 3,000 square feet. The showroom features 17 styled room sets and allows customers to experience customizable, small-space-friendly pieces like the Dalton Bed and modular Mori sofa in person. The store aims to address city-living challenges with accessible, stylish furniture options.
The Chelsea showroom spans 3,000 square feet and features 17 distinct room sets, each styled with decorative accents like lamps and rugs. Shoppers can book free one-on-one consultations with Castlery's interior stylists. The display is intentionally curated, showcasing bestsellers and new arrivals rather than the brand's entire online catalog, which is refreshed periodically.
Sofas dominate the floor, including the family-friendly Dawson and budget-friendly Auburn models. Only three beds are currently on display—the Miyo, Esmee, and Dalton Storage Bed—so visitors should call ahead for specific models. The Dalton Bed features storage drawers on all sides, while the modular Mori sofa can be configured for any room size, reflecting the brand's focus on small-space, customizable furniture for city dwellers.
The opening could significantly benefit New York City apartment dwellers, who now have a physical location to test small-space-friendly furniture before committing to a purchase, reducing the uncertainty of online ordering. This move may also pressure other direct-to-consumer furniture brands to consider physical showrooms in dense urban markets. By offering free design consultations, the store could also shift consumer expectations for in-person retail experiences, potentially raising the bar for service standards in the furniture industry.
