Xiaomi 18 Pro Set for Global Debut in India First
Xiaomi has teased the India launch of its Xiaomi 18 Pro, which was recently unveiled in China alongside the 18 Pro Max. The device features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 4000nits peak brightness, plus a 2.7-inch secondary AMOLED display on the back. Cameras are co-engineered with Leica, and the launch is expected in October or November.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro arrives in India with a dual-display design, pairing a 6.4-inch main AMOLED panel with a 2.7-inch rear screen, both supporting 120Hz refresh and 4000nits peak brightness. Internals include the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip, up to 16GB RAM, and 1TB storage, while a 7000mAh battery supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Leica-tuned triple camera system features dual 200MP sensors with OIS plus a 50MP ultra-wide shooter.
The larger 18 Pro Max, also teased for India, steps up to a 6.9-inch display, a 2.9-inch back panel, an 8500mAh battery, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor while retaining the same camera configuration. Both devices run Android 17 with HyperOS 4, and Xiaomi India has confirmed the global rollout begins here, with availability expected between October and November.
This launch could intensify competition in India's premium smartphone segment, where consumers increasingly weigh camera performance and battery endurance against price. The dual-display format and Leica branding may appeal to content creators and social media users seeking distinctive hardware.
