Apple's Foldable iPhone Duo Gets India Launch Date and Pricing
Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo in India, with the base 256GB model priced at Rs 2,99,900 and higher storage tiers up to 2TB costing Rs 4,49,900. The device, announced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, will be available for pre-order starting October 16, 2026. It is the most expensive iPhone Apple has ever made.
The iPhone Duo arrives in four storage configurations, with the 2TB model carrying a Rs 1,50,000 premium over the entry-level variant. Apple pairs the A20 Pro chip with dual cameras that omit a telephoto lens. Battery endurance is rated at 44 hours of video playback on the outer screen, dropping to 31 hours on the inner display.
Pre-orders open October 16, with open-market sales from October 23. Indian buyers can offset costs through trade-in programs and banking partnerships with Axis Bank, American Express, and ICICI Bank. The package includes a charging cable but no power adapter. Two finishes—Black and White—are offered.
The iPhone Duo's pricing places it firmly in luxury territory, potentially widening the gap between premium and mainstream smartphone ownership in India. Early adopters may absorb the cost, but the device could also signal foldables becoming status symbols rather than practical tools. Trade-in offers and bank discounts may soften the entry barrier, yet the starting price could exclude most Indian consumers, reinforcing Apple's aspirational positioning in the market.
