Grayscale Zcash ETF Surpasses $1 Billion in Assets

Grayscale’s Zcash ETF reached $1 billion in assets on September 24, less than a month after it started trading on NYSE Arca. Cumulative net inflows stood at $306.12 million, including about $100 million in ZCSH shares that DCG International Investments acquired with 85,705 ZEC. The fund’s asset growth also reflected a rise in Zcash’s price and ZEC holdings from the former Grayscale Zcash Trust.
The fund crossed the $1 billion mark on Sept. 24, only weeks after its NYSE Arca debut. Reported net inflows totaled $306.12 million. About $100 million of ZCSH shares were obtained by DCG International Investments on Sept. 8 through an in-kind exchange involving 85,705 ZEC; DCG is part of Grayscale’s parent group.
ZCSH started exchange trading Aug. 25 after converting from the older Grayscale Zcash Trust, which already owned ZEC. Around Sept. 24, ZEC traded near $1,530—roughly double its level when ETF trading began—lifting the dollar value of existing holdings. A three-for-one split is set for record holders Sept. 28, effective before Sept. 30, without changing total value.
The milestone may draw more attention to crypto ETFs, potentially giving investors another regulated route to gain Zcash exposure. Shareholders could see administrative changes from the split, though their economic stake should not change. Broader society may be affected only indirectly, as such products can influence how digital assets are viewed, accessed, and integrated into mainstream finance; risks and volatility remain.
