Cricut StickerPix Lets You Print and Cut Custom Stickers at Home
Cricut announced StickerPix, a line of machines for making stickers and photo prints at home. StickerPix Print uses pre-cut sheets, while StickerPix Print + Cut can print and kiss-cut custom shapes. Both use dye-sublimation printing and laminate stickers as they print, and no Cricut Access subscription is required.
Cricut's StickerPix line includes two options. The basic Print model works with pre-cut sticker sheets, while Print + Cut allows users to create their own layouts and kiss-cut around artwork for custom shapes. Both rely on dye-sublimation printing and laminate each sticker during output, helping resist water, scratches, and fading. Cricut Access is not needed.
The system uses Cricut-brand sticker sheets and photo paper in 4×6 and 4×7 sizes. Users work through Design Space on a phone or computer. Bundles cost about $150 to $380. Early reviewers reportedly found the Print + Cut model effective for small, detailed designs, and the photo-printing function useful independently.
StickerPix could make personalized stickers and photo prints more immediate for journalers, scrapbookers, families, and casual crafters, potentially reducing reliance on bulk print services or store kiosks. It may also encourage more homemade gifts and personal decoration. However, the machine price and proprietary materials could keep the hobby concentrated among those willing to invest upfront. Its broader social effect may be modest, mostly reshaping small creative routines rather than changing how most people use technology.
