WiCi One external GPU links over Wi-Fi 7 for gaming and AI
WiCi's One is an external graphics unit that connects over Wi-Fi 7 rather than Thunderbolt or OCuLink. The base configuration includes an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, an Intel Core 3 100U and 1TB of NVMe storage, with preorders starting at $1,999 before a planned $2,599 price. A higher-end model with an RTX 5090 32GB is planned, and initial shipments are expected in the fourth quarter.
WiCi positions the One as a cable-free external graphics enclosure for laptops and other compatible hardware. Inside, it carries its own GPU, Wi-Fi 7 radio, and cooling, so the host device does not need Thunderbolt or OCuLink. The entry version pairs an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB with an Intel Core 3 100U and 1TB NVMe.
A planned premium tier would step up to an RTX 5090 32GB, Intel Core Ultra 7 225H, and 4TB NVMe 5 storage. WiCi cites 4K DLSS 4 results of 80 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 and 60 fps in Black Myth: Wukong, while also pitching local AI workloads. Preorders begin at $1,999, later $2,599, with first shipments expected in Q4.
If wireless eGPUs mature, laptop owners, students, creators, and AI hobbyists could gain desktop-class graphics without replacing slim machines. This may reduce e-waste and extend device life, though price and Wi-Fi 7 access may limit adoption to affluent users. Latency, reliability, and shared-network congestion could shape real-world usefulness. It may also pressure cable-based eGPU makers to improve convenience or cut costs.
