Five Nights at Freddy's Joins Fortnite's Fortnitemares Halloween Event

Epic Games has officially confirmed that Five Nights at Freddy's is coming to Fortnite as part of the Fortnitemares Halloween event. Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and the pizzeria are set to join the game. Previous teasers included security cameras and dialogue references.
Fortnitemares is Fortnite's yearly Halloween event, and this year's edition starts October 11. Epic confirmed the FNAF crossover with a trailer after months of hints, including a pizzeria visible on the Island during the Override season, security-camera imagery, and dialogue references.
The trailer shows Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria as a map location. Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy appear there as bosses that players can defeat and take over. Their skins seem reactive, showing damage during matches, possibly representing withered variants; this may apply only to boss versions.
The crossover may draw new and lapsed players into Fortnite during Fortnitemares, especially FNAF fans who have long requested it. It could also introduce younger audiences to both franchises through shared Halloween-themed content. For existing players, the boss encounter and reactive skins may add novelty, while Epic could benefit from increased engagement and spending. The collaboration may further blur lines between games and other entertainment properties, though its actual cultural reach remains uncertain.
