Major renewable energy projects add battery storage and solar capacity across Asia and Europe

Adani Green Energy has commissioned nearly 482 MW of renewable generation and over 3,000 MWh of battery storage at its Khavda facility in Gujarat, now operating one of the world's largest single-location battery-storage installations. Rezolv Energy secured €561 million in financing to develop a 1.3 GWp solar project in Romania expected to generate 1,800 GWh annually and begin commercial operation in 2028. ACME Solar completed the first phase of battery storage at its Chittorgarh project in Rajasthan, adding 53.73 MW of capacity as part of a larger 250 MW renewable energy initiative.
Three major renewable developers have announced significant capacity additions across Asia and Europe, reflecting growing investment in hybrid renewable-plus-storage systems. Adani Green's facility in Gujarat now ranks among the world's largest battery installations at a single site, positioning the company to better manage grid supply variability. Meanwhile, Rezolv Energy's Romanian project represents a major capital mobilization across European lending institutions, with construction potentially creating substantial temporary employment while the facility develops output equivalent to powering hundreds of thousands of homes annually.
These projects may help address grid stability challenges in regions increasingly dependent on variable renewable sources, potentially reducing reliance on fossil-fuel peaking plants. For energy consumers, hybrid systems like these could contribute to more reliable electricity supply and potentially lower long-term energy costs. Infrastructure investors and lending institutions appear increasingly confident in renewable-plus-storage viability, which may accelerate capital flows into similar projects. However, success depends on project execution timelines and the regulatory frameworks supporting grid integration and power purchase agreements in each region.
