Lanas to acquire indici and expand primary-care software footprint in New Zealand

Lanas has agreed to buy the primary-care software platform indici and will invest NZ$150 million over two years in New Zealand. The deal is part of a broader NZ$200 million expansion effort in that market. Lanas is a Dublin-based healthcare software group with operations in more than 20 countries and a network that handles over one billion clinical documents and messages annually.
Lanas is a Dublin-based healthcare software group formed in late 2025 after Howard Beggs acquired Clanwilliam Group. It is backed by TA Associates and institutional financing from Apollo, Hayfin, and Arcmont. The company runs 19 offices across more than 20 countries, employs about 900 people, and supports over 40,000 general practitioners while processing over a billion clinical files and communications each year.
indici was created in New Zealand by Valentia Technologies and commercially launched in 2017 under founder Dr. Ahmad Javad. It is a cloud-based practice administration and electronic records platform used by over 250 primary care organizations and PHOs, including Pinnacle Midlands Health Network. Lanas already has Auckland and Christchurch hubs with more than 160 staff.
The acquisition and investment may affect New Zealand primary care providers, clinicians, and patients as indici's platform is integrated into a larger international group. Patients could see changes in how records and messages move between services, potentially improving coordination or creating temporary disruption during migration. Clinicians and practice staff may face workflow adjustments, training, and new automation tools. The expansion could also influence local health-software competition and demand for engineering and implementation skills. These outcomes depend on implementation choices, governance, and how well interoperability and continuity are managed.
