IMC 2026 Begins in New Delhi with 6G, AI, and Infrastructure in the Spotlight

India Mobile Congress 2026 is being held in New Delhi from October 7 to 10 under the theme Scale Without Boundaries, organized by the Department of Telecommunications and the Cellular Operators Association of India. The event covers 5G, 6G, AI networks, semiconductors, cybersecurity, smart mobility, industrial robotics, and transport technology. Ericsson has produced more than 15,000 antennas and 25 million components in India since July 2025, while Nokia stressed that timely and sufficient spectrum is essential for India's 6G rollout and Microscan plans a ₹350 crore submarine cable landing station near Mumbai.
India Mobile Congress 2026 runs in New Delhi from 7–10 October, jointly arranged by the telecom department and the Cellular Operators Association of India. Its tenth edition examines 5G, 6G, AI-enabled networks, chips, cybersecurity, smart transport, robotics, and mobility.
Ericsson reports making over 15,000 antennas and 25 million components in India since July 2025, with exports to Europe. Nokia argues that sufficient, timely spectrum access is vital for India's 6G path. Microscan plans a roughly ₹350 crore submarine cable landing station near Mumbai, while Starlink has readied about 20 Indian gateway sites.
Faster, more resilient networks could improve digital access for consumers, small businesses, and public services. Telecom manufacturing, cable landing, and satellite gateway work may create skilled jobs and strengthen supply-chain resilience. If spectrum and approvals arrive on time, 6G and satellite broadband might reach underserved areas sooner; delays could widen gaps between connected and unconnected communities. These outcomes depend on execution, affordability, and adoption.
