TRAI Test Finds Jio Fastest for Downloads in Fazilka, Airtel Best for Uploads
TRAI's August 2026 drive test across Fazilka city and nearby Punjab areas measured mobile network performance. Reliance Jio posted the top download speed at 271.44 Mbps, while Airtel had the best upload result at 23.52 Mbps. Airtel also showed the fewest poor voice signal samples, and Airtel and Jio had no dropped calls; BSNL and Vodafone Idea each recorded three.
TRAI’s assessment ran from 5–7 August 2026, covering Fazilka city and nearby Punjab areas. The agency logged 184.6 km of city driving, 1.9 km of walking, and six hotspot locations, giving a route-based view of local mobile performance.
Jio’s download result was 271.44 Mbps, while Airtel reached 204.39 Mbps. Airtel’s upload figure was 23.52 Mbps, the highest. Airtel also had the smallest poor-signal share, and neither Airtel nor Jio dropped a tested voice call; BSNL and Vodafone Idea each had three.
These findings may help residents, commuters, and small businesses in Fazilka compare operators when choosing SIMs or broadband backup. Faster downloads could support streaming and cloud use, while stronger uploads may aid video calls, content sharing, and remote work.
