Nokia selects Turki Alzwaiml to head Saudi Arabia operations

Nokia has appointed Turki Alzwaiml as its Country Manager for Saudi Arabia. Alzwaiml has served as VP Head of Mobile Network Business since 2023 and brings customer relationships and knowledge of the Saudi market. Nokia said the appointment will help strengthen partnerships and support adoption of advanced technologies as the country focuses on AI, digital infrastructure and innovation.
Turki Alzwaiml takes over Nokia's Saudi Arabia country operations after serving as the company's VP and head of its mobile network business since 2023. Nokia credits him with industry experience, customer ties, and familiarity with the Kingdom's market.
Mikko Lavanti, who leads Nokia's Middle East and Africa region, backed the appointment. The company said the move should help it deepen local alliances and promote newer technologies as Saudi Arabia pursues artificial intelligence, digital foundations, and innovation.
The appointment may affect Saudi telecom operators, enterprise customers, and technology partners as Nokia's local leadership changes. If it strengthens collaboration, advanced network and AI-related projects could move faster, potentially improving digital services for businesses and consumers. The impact on broader society would likely depend on how quickly those technologies are deployed and made accessible, rather than on the leadership change alone.
