FFA groups eligible for up to $5,000 in community project funding

The National FFA Foundation and AES are accepting applications for a grant program that awards as much as $5,000 to local FFA chapters. The funds are intended for student-led efforts in agricultural education, innovation, sustainability, and rural mental health. The current application window closes on October 30, 2026.
The AES Chapter Grant Program is a joint effort by AES and the National FFA Foundation. Its second application cycle runs until October 30, 2026, and individual local chapters may seek as much as $5,000. Student teams are asked to spot community needs and propose their own projects rather than choose from a fixed list.
Funding targets three areas: agribusiness education, agricultural and energy innovation, and mental health in agriculture. The program sits alongside other corporate-backed FFA opportunities, including chapter grants from Smithfield Foods and AGCO, plus support from Culver’s, Syngenta, Darling Ingredients, and Invenergy for resources and official jackets.
This grant opportunity may help local FFA chapters launch student-led projects that otherwise lack funding. Students could gain planning and community engagement experience, while schools and rural communities might benefit from new educational, sustainability, or mental health efforts. The impact likely depends on how many chapters apply and whether projects continue after grant funds end. Corporate-backed programs may also shape which topics receive attention, though the program's stated categories are broad.
