Live-Action Cyberpunk 2077 Feature in Development at Paramount

Paramount Pictures is reportedly set to produce a live-action film based on Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red is involved, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura has been attached as producer. The Cyberpunk franchise previously expanded into animation with the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Deadline reports that Paramount Pictures will back a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie. CD Projekt Red is participating, while Lorenzo di Bonaventura is attached to produce. His previous producing credits include G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Transformers: The Last Knight, Madame Web, The Meg, and Pet Sematary.
The franchise has already moved beyond games: Netflix's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime ran for two seasons and drew strong popularity. CD Projekt Red joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski said the company sees Paramount as a future partner aligned with its creative goals for Cyberpunk and will share more when appropriate.
If it moves forward, the project could raise the Cyberpunk brand's profile among filmgoers and fans of the game and Edgerunners. It may influence how studios view game-based films, while also shaping fan expectations and CD Projekt Red's cross-media strategy. The involvement of a producer with mixed genre credits could affect critical reception and audience trust, though outcomes remain uncertain.
