WhiteBIT Adds Lightning Network Support for Bitcoin Transfers and Payments

WhiteBIT has integrated the Bitcoin Lightning Network, allowing its 10 million users to deposit, withdraw, send, and receive Bitcoin. The exchange uses Voltage’s infrastructure and liquidity for the service, which also supports QR payments and account top-ups. WhiteBIT says the feature is aimed at faster transfers, remittances, and cross-border payments.
WhiteBIT launched the feature on October 8, 2026, adding a Bitcoin transfer option beyond trading. Founded in 2018, the exchange is part of W Group, which reports more than 40 million customers. WhiteBIT cites 10 million users across six continents and over 150 countries, plus more than 1,020 trading pairs, over 360 assets, and eight fiat currencies.
Voltage supplies the underlying Lightning infrastructure and liquidity, covering routing, channels, node management, and payment reliability so WhiteBIT can focus on user-facing products. The rollout includes deposits, withdrawals, account top-ups, QR payments, and transfers to Lightning-enabled wallets and applications.
The integration may make small Bitcoin transfers and cross-border remittances faster and potentially cheaper for WhiteBIT users, especially where conventional payment services are costly or limited. Merchants accepting QR payments could gain another option, while reliance on Voltage may concentrate operational risk. Wider adoption could depend on usability, fees, and whether Lightning remains reliable at scale.
