South Africa solar module deal; Romanian PV plant completed; German wind repowering begins

Infinity Power awarded AIKO contracts to supply photovoltaic modules for 773.5 MWp of South African projects, including Highveld Solar and the Ngwedi Cluster. Parapet completed a 32 MWp solar farm in Dănești, Romania, for an Alerion Clean Power subsidiary, with expected annual generation of 52 GWh. VSB started construction on an 18 MW wind repowering project in Rastede, Germany, replacing four older turbines with three 6 MW Vestas units.
EXPANDED:
Infinity Power's awards to AIKO cover 773.5 MWp in South Africa, spanning Highveld Solar and the Ngwedi Cluster's Onderstepoort Solar 1 and 2. AIKO will supply all-back-contact modules. The companies say their African collaboration now exceeds 2 GWp. Parapet finished the 32 MWp Dănești plant in Călărași County for Alerion subsidiary Conti Energie Verde, using about 50,000 640 Wp modules, over 860 trackers and 380 km of cabling. It is expected to produce 52 GWh yearly, enough for roughly 20,000 homes, and belongs to a seven-project, ~80 MWp Romania-Italy contract.
VSB began building the 18 MW Liethe-Lehmden repowering scheme in Rastede, Lower Saxony. It replaces four 0.9 MW turbines (3.6 MW total) with three 6 MW Vestas V150 machines. Capacity should rise fivefold and annual output more than tenfold, potentially matching about 11,300 three-person households. Completion is targeted for late summer 2027. VSB's first Lower Saxony wind farm, it follows approval of the nearby 14 MW Oldenbrok Süd project in July 2026.
