Gainjet Ireland Expands Shannon Air Ambulance Service and Adds 14 Staff

Gainjet Ireland has added a Hawker 800XP to its Shannon-based air ambulance fleet and EASA certificate. The aircraft is configured for medical transport and will support urgent patient transfers across Europe and beyond. The expansion has created 14 filled roles, including flight operations, airworthiness, administration, flight nurse, and paramedic positions.
Gainjet Ireland’s newly added Hawker 800XP, registered EJ-REVV, joins its EASA Air Operator Certificate as a second dedicated aeromedical aircraft. Based at Shannon Airport, it is outfitted to carry patients, medical personnel and specialised equipment, with range and performance suited to international medical transfers.
The expansion filled 14 posts across flight operations, continuing airworthiness, operational support, administration, flight nursing and paramedic work. Gainjet Ireland also maintains a Dublin sales office and operates Gulfstream G650/G550 aircraft alongside its Hawker air ambulance fleet, offering executive charter, aeromedical, delivery and ferry services.
The added aircraft and roles may improve access to time-critical medical transport for patients in Ireland and Europe, while creating skilled employment around Shannon. Families could benefit from faster transfers, and local aviation and healthcare sectors may see modest workforce growth. However, actual societal impact depends on mission demand, clinical need and how the service is used.
