Apple Elevates iOS 27.0.1 in iPhone Software Update Menu
Apple has changed the iPhone Software Update screen so iOS 27.0.1 appears as the main highlighted option for users still on iOS 26. The upgrade remains optional, but Apple recommends installing at least iOS 26.7.1 for security fixes. Since iOS 27 launched on September 14, it had been placed in the secondary "Also Available" section until this change.

Now iOS 27.0.1 occupies the main update position, and iOS 26.7.1 appears in the smaller lower section. Apple still does not automatically install iOS 27, and users may remain on iOS 26 if they choose. The company recommends at least iOS 26.7.1 for security fixes.
