Mockingbird Pictures will bring the Vietnamese supernatural chiller to the Asian Contents & Film Market, the industry event tied to the Busan International Film Festival, where international buyers can learn about the title. The distributor controls its global rights.
The film, called Huyết Thống in its home market, is directed by Đinh Đức Thiện and produced by K8 Studio and Hoàng Gia. Vietnamese audiences are set to see it in cinemas on Dec. 25.
The film’s market push may raise international awareness of Vietnamese genre cinema, potentially benefiting local cast/crew, producers, and distributors through sales or partnerships. Vietnamese audiences could see a higher-profile domestic horror release around Christmas, while overseas viewers may encounter the title through later distribution. Its success may encourage more cross-border interest in Vietnam’s supernatural storytelling, though actual impact depends on buyer response and theatrical performance.
