Ethereum funds post biggest weekly withdrawal since January

US spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $542.1 million in net outflows for the week ending Oct. 9, 2026, the largest weekly withdrawal since late January. BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust accounted for about $477 million of the redemptions, while Grayscale's ETHE saw $31.9 million. The funds have now had nine straight days of outflows totaling $697.2 million, and Ether traded near $2,491 after falling more than 7% over the week.
The weekly redemption total of $542.1 million was the category’s heaviest since late January, when Ethereum ETFs lost $611 million. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust supplied about $477 million of the latest withdrawals, while Grayscale’s ETHE contributed $31.9 million.
The funds have now fallen for nine straight trading days from Sept. 29, with $697.2 million redeemed. Ether traded near $2,491 on Oct. 10, down over 7% for the week, below both $2,500 and its 50-day average. ETH volume dropped 61% to $7.2 billion.
Retail and institutional crypto investors may feel reduced confidence as Ether and Bitcoin ETF outflows signal risk trimming. Asset managers like BlackRock could face pressure from concentrated redemptions, while advisers and platforms may need to explain volatility. If outflows persist, crypto-related businesses and employees tied to trading activity could see weaker revenue. Broader society may be less affected unless digital-asset stress spills into conventional markets, which remains uncertain.
