Saudi Aviation Authority Reports Fresh Attacks on Riyadh and Dammam Airports

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport were attacked again on Sunday. Injuries were reported at the Riyadh airport, and damage assessments are underway. The coalition said air defenses intercepted a cruise missile near King Khalid airport and a drone in the Eastern Region.
Saudi civil aviation officials reported that two major airports—Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport—came under renewed assault on Sunday. The Riyadh site saw injuries, while authorities began evaluating structural or operational harm alongside other agencies.
Earlier that day, the Yemen-focused coalition said its defenses brought down a cruise missile close to King Khalid airport and a drone over the Eastern Region. The prior day, GACA disclosed that an attack at King Khalid killed 12 and hurt 309 people of multiple nationalities; the coalition also noted a projectile near King Fahd.
Repeated attacks near major Saudi airports could deepen unease among travelers, aviation employees, and residents in Riyadh and the Eastern Region. Flight delays, cancellations, or tightened security may disrupt business, family travel, and tourism, while emergency responders and airport staff face added strain. If damage assessments confirm significant harm, public confidence in air travel and transport links may be affected, though the full social and economic effects remain uncertain.
