Casio and POP MART Debut a Watch That Can Clip to a Bag

Casio has partnered with POP MART on a BABY-G model that works either as a wristwatch or as a bag accessory. The BGD-10KPM-7 has a yellow bezel, a white strap with Baby Molly artwork, and a backlight that shows her blue eyes. It is set to launch in Japan in November 2026 for ¥16,500, roughly $104.
Casio’s BGD-10KPM-7 sits in the BABY-G+PLUS BGD-10 line, which allows the center case to be removed without tools and placed in a supplied pink holder. That holder has its own strap for a bag, backpack, or belt loop. The screen keeps working after the switch, so time remains visible.
The design references Baby Molly through a yellow resin bezel, white illustrated strap, and a backlight that reveals blue eyes. Removing the strap exposes a kindergarten name-tag graphic. The case back carries a MOLLY 20th-anniversary mark. Casio lists shock resistance, 100-meter water resistance, a 42.8 × 39 × 14.7 mm resin case, about 33 grams, and a CR1616 battery lasting roughly three years.
This release may appeal to watch collectors, POP MART fans, and younger consumers who treat accessories as self-expression. By combining a functional timepiece with a bag charm, it could encourage more hybrid fashion-tech purchases and strengthen cross-brand collectibles. It may also raise expectations for removable, customizable designs. However, its broader impact may remain niche, tied to fandom and regional availability, rather than changing mainstream watch use.
