EXPANDED:
On Oct. 12, missiles hit Kharkiv, leaving at least 11 wounded, among them a rescue worker. Officials reported ten Banderol-type missiles aimed at civilian infrastructure. In Kholodnohirskyi, a four-story apartment block lost a whole section, and about ten private homes nearby were harmed. In Shevchenkivskyi, a five-story building was struck; a ground-floor bank and six vehicles burned, while three neighboring apartment blocks had broken windows.
Three people were pulled from debris. Two patients were critical: a 19-year-old burn-unit patient and a man in surgery; three others were hospitalized with moderate injuries. The injured rescuer’s condition was unclear. Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, sits about 30 kilometers from Russia’s border and has faced repeated strikes. A day earlier, an air attack killed one person and hurt eight.
