Strategy's early-October purchase added 334 coins for roughly $28.7 million, lifting its reserve to 848,000 BTC, about 4.04% of all Bitcoin. Its cumulative outlay reached $63.97 billion, averaging $75,441 per coin.
Metaplanet finished Q3 with 44,000 BTC after selling 10,000 and buying 11,000, a net gain of 1,000. Strive acquired 2,000 BTC for about $169 million, ending with 29,462 BTC. Other disclosed holders included MARA, Twenty One Capital, Tesla, Coinbase, and Galaxy Digital.
As more public companies hold Bitcoin, employees, shareholders, customers, and creditors could gain indirect exposure to crypto price swings. Treasury losses may weaken balance sheets, financing capacity, and investor confidence, while gains might encourage broader corporate adoption. This could normalize digital assets in mainstream finance, yet concentrated holdings may amplify market volatility, potentially affecting pension funds and retail investors with indirect exposure. Auditors and regulators may face growing pressure to improve disclosure and risk assessment.
