Chandler Riggs writes, directs and stars in Resident Evil fan short

Chandler Riggs, known for playing Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead, has created a 20-minute Resident Evil fan film titled Biohazard. The short adapts parts of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and features Jason Douglas as Jack Baker, with Greg Nicotero supplying special effects equipment. It is scheduled for release on October 14.
Riggs, previously Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead, wrote, directed, and leads Biohazard, a 20-minute unofficial Resident Evil short. It draws on Resident Evil 7, with Riggs as Ethan Winters and Jason Douglas as Baker patriarch Jack. Mary Rachel Quinn, Eugenie Bondurant, Johnathan O’Neil, and Sam Coyles also appear.
Greg Nicotero, a horror effects veteran and The Walking Dead producer, supplied SFX equipment. Riggs told IGN he wanted a faithful live-action take on the game and would welcome working with Zach Cregger, whose recent Resident Evil film became the highest-rated video game movie despite some fan criticism. Biohazard arrives October 14.
The short may energize Resident Evil fans and aspiring filmmakers by showing a known actor creating a fan project outside studio channels. It could draw attention to Riggs beyond The Walking Dead and introduce new viewers to RE7. If it performs well, it may encourage more game-inspired shorts and blur lines between fan work and official adaptations, though its impact likely remains within entertainment culture rather than broader society.
