Gemini 4 Argon expands to more Google users and developers

Google has expanded access to its Gemini 4 Argon model, making it available through the Gemini API, the Antigravity developer platform, and to AI Ultra and Pro subscribers in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. The model is designed for complex tasks in finance, software engineering, coding, creative writing, and cybersecurity defense. Introductory API pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens until November 30, after which the rates double.
Argon initially reached Fairwind Program participants—governments and trusted partners requiring top-tier cybersecurity tools—earlier this month. It now reaches developers through the Gemini API and Antigravity, Google's agentic coding platform, while AI Ultra and Pro subscribers get it in the Gemini app and Search's AI Mode.
In the US, AI Pro costs $20 monthly and Ultra starts at $100. API access is $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens through Nov. 30, then doubles. Google skipped a planned 3.5 Pro release for Argon. Artificial Analysis says Argon matches OpenAI GPT-6 Astra's Intelligence Index score at 60% of per-task cost under introductory pricing.
Expanded access could let more developers, businesses, and paying subscribers use advanced AI for coding, finance, writing, and security work. Lower introductory API rates may encourage experimentation, while later price increases could shape which organizations sustain long-term use. Faster, more direct responses may improve productivity, but reliance on premium tiers could widen gaps between well-funded users and others. In cybersecurity, stronger defensive tools may help, though broader availability of capable models may also prompt new risk-management challenges.
