Samsung Mid-Range Phones Become Costlier in India

Samsung has raised prices for the Galaxy A27 5G, Galaxy M47 5G, and Galaxy F70 Pro by Rs 2,000 across variants. The increase follows earlier hikes and is linked to rising global DRAM costs. Several other smartphone brands have also adjusted prices for similar reasons.
Samsung’s new Rs 2,000 increase covers the Galaxy A27 5G, Galaxy M47 5G, and Galaxy F70 Pro. The M47 and F70 Pro now start at Rs 37,999 for 6GB+128GB, up from Rs 35,999. The A27 5G, using Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, rises from Rs 33,999 to Rs 35,999 for its base model.
Tipster Sanju Choudhary spotted the change on X. Samsung India’s site shows the new prices, though retailers might still offer older rates. These devices had already seen repeated hikes, which Samsung links to global DRAM costs. OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi, OPPO, Nothing, Apple, and others have also raised prices.
These hikes may make mid-range 5G phones less accessible to budget-conscious Indian buyers, potentially delaying upgrades or shifting purchases to older models and rival brands. Retailers could face pressure as consumers compare online official prices with offline discounts. Sustained DRAM-driven increases across brands may reshape value expectations, though competition and promotions could soften the effect.
