Ukraine says it reclaimed 101 square kilometers in latest phase of Lyman operation

Ukraine's Third Army Corps reported that its forces retook 101 square kilometers during the fourth stage of Operation Vivaldi on the Lyman front. The corps said Ukrainian troops liberated Zelena Dolyna, Lypove, and Kolodiazi, while Russian losses in this phase reached about 3,000 soldiers. Overall, the operation has returned 16 settlements and 277 square kilometers to Ukrainian control, according to Brig. Gen. Andrii Biletskyi.
Ukraine’s Third Army Corps and supporting formations reported gains in the fourth phase of Operation Vivaldi, reclaiming 101 square kilometers on the Lyman axis in Donetsk Oblast. The corps named Zelena Dolyna, Lypove, and Kolodiazi as freed, and estimated roughly 3,000 Russian soldiers lost during this stage.
Across the whole operation, the corps reported 16 settlements and 277 square kilometers restored. Commander Brig. Gen. Andrii Biletskyi said the effort blocked a key Donbas supply route, disrupted Russia’s Zapad grouping, and drew away part of its 1st Tank Army, easing pressure near Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. Earlier, he described counterattacks north of Lyman and blows to Russia’s 20th and 25th Combined Arms Armies.
The reported gains could affect civilians in and around the Lyman sector, including residents of reclaimed villages who may face uncertain returns, damaged infrastructure, and shifting front-line risks. Military pressure near Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and the wider Donbas urban belt may influence displacement and winter preparedness. These developments may also shape morale and resource priorities, though their broader social impact remains contingent on whether gains hold and fighting continues.
