Announced on October 13, 2026, the LG accessories are designed for Apple’s Home ecosystem and also work through LG’s ThinQ app. The group spans three cameras, a wired doorbell, a smart deadbolt, a thermostat, and a temperature sensor. Pricing begins at $39.95, with availability starting December 2026.
The cameras record up to 2.5K, and Apple Home can identify people, animals, vehicles, and deliveries, including familiar faces. The doorbell uses two cameras to cover visitors and packages below. The deadbolt relies on Ultra Wideband and Apple home key for hands-free entry, plus NFC, PIN, and a backup key. The thermostat and temperature sensor complete the set.
This expansion could make Apple Home more appealing to households that want cameras, locks, and climate devices under fewer apps. People already using iPhones, Apple Watches, HomePods, or HomeView displays may find setup and daily control simpler, while LG ThinQ users gain another integration path. However, reliance on compatible hardware, iCloud+ plans, wiring, and connectivity may limit benefits for some. The shift may also pressure other smart-home brands to prioritize cross-platform support and local access.
