Blondie to release first new album in nine years, 'High Noon', featuring Johnny Marr and Glen Matlock

Blondie will release their 12th studio album, 'High Noon', on February 26 via BMG. It marks the New York band's first release of newly written material since 2017 and features the final recordings of drummer Clem Burke, plus guest appearances by Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Zach Condon, Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. The lead single 'Spectral Eyes', written by Marr and featuring his guitar, is out now.
Blondie's twelfth studio album, High Noon, arrives February 26 through BMG. It is the New York group's first set of newly written songs in nine years. The 13-track project includes drummer Clem Burke's last recordings; he died after cancer. Guests include Johnny Marr, Glen Matlock, Beirut's Zach Condon, and Lucius's Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. Marr wrote and plays guitar on lead single "Spectral Eyes."
Sessions began in 2022 with producer John Congleton in New York, after 2017's Pollinator. The tracklist features "Sleepwalking," written by Glen Matlock, and a new version of "Little Metal Drummer," originally by co-founding keyboardist Jimmy Destri. Artist-director Rob Roth shaped the album's visual world, continuing a partnership dating to 1999's No Exit.
The release may resonate most with longtime Blondie listeners and punk/new-wave fans, especially those marking Clem Burke's final performances. It could also draw renewed attention to legacy artists' late-career work and cross-generational collaborations. Retailers and streaming platforms may see interest around the single and album, while the guest spots could introduce Blondie's catalog to followers of Johnny Marr, Beirut, or Lucius. Whether it shifts broader cultural conversation is uncertain, but it may strengthen the band's enduring presence.
