RWE, Standard Solar and Globeleq advance solar and storage developments

RWE completed a 19.2 MWp solar expansion near Jüchen, Germany, bringing its complex to 105.7 MWp, and is adding a 75 MW/150 MWh battery due in spring 2027. Standard Solar bought two Washington solar projects totaling 15.79 MWdc from OneEnergy Renewables, with completion set for early 2027. Globeleq selected Solarcentury Africa and Alensy Energy Solutions to build the 40 MWac/56 MWp Kafue solar project in Zambia after financial close.
RWE's newly commissioned 19.2 MWp array near Jüchen adds 15.8 MW AC and was finished in under half a year. The site now reaches 105.7 MWp across roughly 171,600 modules, with output estimated to equal about 34,000 households' yearly use. A 75 MW/150 MWh battery is slated for spring 2027. Both sit on former Garzweiler lignite mine land, part of RWE's roughly 600 MW regional solar-and-wind pipeline.
Standard Solar's purchase from OneEnergy covers 15.79 MWdc in Washington: the 12.1 MW Palouse Junction and 3.69 MW Cunningham projects. Their first-year output is projected at 22,339 MWh and 6,917 MWh, sold to Franklin PUD and Big Bend Electric Cooperative. OneEnergy handles EPC, with completion expected in early 2027. Globeleq's Kafue scheme in Zambia, 40 MWac/56 MWp, has named Solarcentury Africa and Alensy as EPC contractors after financial close.
