AnySignal wins communications role for Reflect Orbital’s first three satellites

AnySignal has signed an agreement to supply communications for Reflect Orbital’s first satellite and two later missions. The deal covers AnySignal’s USX software-defined radio for flight and its AnyLink ground-connectivity software. The combined radio consolidates payload downlinks and TT&C in one unit, while AnyLink gives operators a single interface to multiple ground-station providers.
AnySignal will provide flight radios and ground-connectivity software for Reflect Orbital’s first satellite and two later missions. Its USX transceiver is a multi-band software-defined radio that handles high-rate payload downlinks and TT&C in one module, avoiding separate band-specific radios and reducing satellite mass and cabling.
AnyLink gives Reflect operators one interface for accessing several third-party ground-station-as-a-service networks. Reflect Orbital is developing orbital infrastructure intended to redirect sunlight to precise locations on Earth, with stated uses including extending solar-farm generation and supporting nighttime search-and-rescue and construction work.
The agreement may help Reflect Orbital test and operate its first satellites more efficiently by simplifying communications hardware and ground-network access. If Reflect’s sunlight-redirection concept advances, solar-farm operators, search-and-rescue teams, and nighttime construction crews could be among those affected, though the technology’s practical reach and public benefits remain uncertain and depend on future mission performance and regulatory acceptance.
