GE Aerospace Slips as Services Growth Concerns Overshadow Strong Quarter

GE Aerospace shares dropped more than 4% even after adjusted earnings of $2.25 per share beat expectations and the company raised its 2026 guidance. Aerospace revenue climbed 18% to $13.3 billion, while total orders jumped 49% to $19 billion. Investors focused on slower expected commercial-services growth, weaker free cash flow, and valuation concerns.
GE Aerospace’s third-quarter adjusted profit came in at $2.25 a share, above the roughly $2.01 consensus, while adjusted aerospace sales rose 18% to $13.3 billion. Reported revenue was about $14.1 billion, including its run-off insurance unit, and orders reached $19 billion, up 49%.
Operating profit increased 30% to about $3 billion, with margin at 22.5%, up 2.2 points. However, Commercial Engines & Services margin slipped slightly as equipment sales outgrew services. Management lifted 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $8.00–$8.10 and projected adjusted revenue growth of about 19%–20%.
The share decline may affect investors, including pension and retirement savers with aerospace exposure, through short-term portfolio swings. Airlines and passengers could feel downstream effects if engine production and maintenance capacity, pricing, or service growth shifts. Suppliers and workers may also be influenced by order strength and cash-flow priorities, though the company’s raised guidance suggests demand remains a buffer.
