Design Miami Paris returns with standout furniture and gallery displays

The fourth Design Miami Paris fair is being held at L’Hôtel de Maisons through 25 October 2026. Exhibits include a large bronze bear by François-Xavier Lalanne, a twisted-wood bench by Pierre Renart, and Jean Prouvé’s 1944 demountable house. Salon 94 Design won best gallery presentation for pairing Giacometti works with furniture by Rick Owens.
The fourth Paris edition runs at L’Hôtel de Maisons until 25 October 2026, spanning 140 years of international design and decorative arts. Outdoors, Galerie Mitterrand shows a monumental Lalanne bear, Volumnia presents Michele De Lucchi’s three-faced wooden pavilion, and Maison Parisienne Gallery displays Pierre Renart’s 17-metre moabi-wood bench, awarded Best Design at Large Presentation.
In the garden of the 18th-century house once home to Karl Lagerfeld, Galerie Patrick Seguin exhibits Jean Prouvé’s timber-clad 1944 6x6 Demountable House, styled like a Japanese tea house. Salon 94 Design earned Best Gallery Presentation by placing Alberto and Diego Giacometti sculptures alongside Rick Owens’s antler stools and brutalist furniture.
The fair could reinforce Paris’s role as a design-tourism draw, benefiting galleries, collectors, hospitality businesses and local cultural institutions. Its mix of historic and contemporary work may widen public exposure to collectible design, while award recognition could boost participating designers and dealers. Access remains limited by ticket prices and the venue’s exclusive setting, so its broader social reach may be modest; online coverage and press highlights could extend the conversation to design students and enthusiasts unable to attend.
