Green bond, Spanish solar-storage financing, and Italian portfolio sale

Eurogrid issued a €500 million green bond to fund German grid expansion, drawing about €3.3 billion in orders for the eight-year notes at a 4.48 percent rate. Bruc Alter secured €222 million in debt for a Spanish portfolio combining 208 MW of solar with 651 MWh of planned battery storage. FlyRen acquired 656 MW of renewable projects from Ignis across 28 Italian solar, wind, and hybrid developments.
Eurogrid’s eight-year green bond priced at 4.48% and drew orders about 6.6 times the €500 million size. The transmission operator will direct proceeds to enlarging and strengthening its network, helping connect more renewable generation and bolster system reliability. It follows a €500 million August 2026 green bond at 4.292% for 12 years and an €850 million green loan from December 2025.
Bruc Alter’s €222 million debt package covers 208 MW of operating solar in Andalusia and Extremadura plus 651 MWh of planned batteries, with BNP Paribas Asset Management, Santander, Sabadell and Banco Cooperativo providing the financing. FlyRen bought 656 MW from Ignis across 28 Italian solar, wind and hybrid projects held via 23 companies.
The grid financing could help accommodate more renewable power and support reliability, potentially affecting electricity users and communities near upgraded infrastructure. Pairing solar with batteries may let output be shifted toward higher-demand periods, which could give grid operators and consumers more flexibility, though local effects depend on siting and implementation. The Italian portfolio sale may affect developers, investors and regional workforces as projects advance; outcomes remain uncertain.
