Apple Brings GarageBand and TestFlight Up to Date for iPhone Duo

Apple has released updates for TestFlight and GarageBand that make both apps work with the iPhone Duo's two screens. GarageBand gains a wider layout for editing music and playing touch instruments, while TestFlight sees little practical change from the larger display. Both apps are free.
Apple's newest releases make two no-cost apps compatible with the iPhone Duo's displays. Each now has a toolbar that runs vertically and should appear correctly regardless of how the handset is oriented, the report says.
TestFlight gains few practical advantages from the added screen space, and its main functions remain essentially the same. GarageBand instead uses the internal display for a broader workspace, giving people who edit music or play on-screen keyboards and guitars more room.
The update may matter most to mobile musicians, who could find the wider GarageBand workspace more comfortable for editing and playing on-screen instruments. App testers and developers using TestFlight may see little practical change, so its societal effect is likely limited. More broadly, such dual-screen support could help normalize larger, dual-screen phone interfaces, though the immediate impact depends on how many people use the iPhone Duo.
