Nokia’s Q3 sales climb on AI and network infrastructure demand

Nokia reported third-quarter revenue of €5.154 billion, up 10%, and operating profit of €605 million. The company booked €1.5 billion in new AI and cloud orders, while AI and cloud revenue more than doubled to €631 million. Its network infrastructure unit grew 17%, led by IP and optical networks.
Nokia’s quarter showed a sharper mix: AI and cloud customers supplied €631 million, or 12.2% of group revenue, versus 5.9% a year earlier. New orders in that segment reached €1.5 billion. Network Infrastructure brought in €2.158 billion, with IP Networks at €839 million and Optical Networks at €933 million; Fixed Networks fell to €386 million. The Americas was its largest infrastructure market at €1.147 billion.
Mobile Infrastructure contributed €2.902 billion, up 5%, as Radio Networks rose 11% and Technology Standards 9%, while Core Software declined 13%. For the first nine months, Nokia’s revenue was €14.402 billion and operating profit €1.340 billion. It expects Optical and IP Networks to grow 25%–30% in 2027, citing order backlog and AI connectivity demand.
The demand for AI and cloud connectivity may affect how quickly data-intensive services reach households and businesses, as operators and hyperscalers invest in optical and IP capacity. Network upgrades could improve reliability and speed for cloud users, while telecom suppliers and their employees may see shifting demand across mobile, fixed, and data-center products. Regions hosting new infrastructure may gain activity, though the benefits and costs could vary by market and deployment pace.
