Russia and Ukraine Exchange Large-Scale Missile and Drone Strikes

Russia carried out a combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine overnight, with Kyiv as the main target and strikes also reported against port infrastructure in the Odesa region. Moscow said the targets included military-industrial facilities and transport sites. Ukraine simultaneously sent a large drone wave toward Russian territory, and Russian sources claimed 808 drones were downed, including 630 approaching Moscow.
Overnight, Russian forces used Iskander-M, Zircon and Oniks missiles plus 210 attack drones, concentrating on Kyiv. Russia’s defense ministry said it hit enterprises making cruise missiles and medium/long-range drones, transport sites in Kyiv, and Odesa-area port facilities and vessels supporting Ukraine’s military.
Ukraine launched a large drone wave into Russia; Russian sources reported 808 downed across 18 federal subjects, with 630 near Moscow. Kyiv-specific reports included disruption at the Southern Road-Rail Bridge, affecting subway service and road traffic, and fires noted at CHP-4 and CHP-5.
The strikes could disrupt daily life for Kyiv and Odesa residents through power, heat and transport interruptions, while port and logistics workers may face renewed uncertainty. Moscow-region residents may see air alerts and travel or workplace disruption from the drone wave. Defense-industrial employees and emergency crews may also bear added strain.
