iPhone Duo In-Store Pickup Returns With Scarce Availability

Apple's online store has begun restoring iPhone Duo pickup reservations in some countries, but available slots are extremely scarce. In the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Singapore, customers are told to check back on October 24. Strong preorder demand has pushed delivery estimates into late January.
Apple’s pickup reservation tool has reappeared in Australia, China, Japan, and South Korea, yet a limited review found almost no open slots across configurations. One Australian unit was briefly listed for Saturday pickup but vanished before publication. Customers in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Singapore are being directed to check again on October 24 as the option rolls out by time zone.
The reservation feature had appeared only briefly when preorders opened last Friday before disappearing. Apple later described demand as unusually strong, with shipping dates stretching to late January. Long lines formed at stores worldwide, and some buyers obtained units without a reservation.
The limited pickup availability may affect would-be buyers who rely on in-store collection, especially those unwilling to wait until late January for delivery. It could also increase foot traffic and queue-management pressure at Apple Stores, affecting staff and local shoppers. Scarcity may push some consumers toward resale channels or delayed purchases, though the long-term effect is likely modest.
