Musk adds $76.8 million to midterm political spending

Campaign finance filings show Elon Musk contributed another $76.8 million to his super PAC in October, bringing his total midterm spending above $442 million. He has directed large sums to Republican groups and to a Texas super PAC supporting Attorney General Ken Paxton's Senate bid. The filing was the super PAC's last before the midterms.
New campaign finance disclosures show Elon Musk put $76.8 million into America PAC during roughly one week in October. That was the committee’s final pre-election report, and it lifted his total for this midterm cycle past $442 million, after earlier spending of $366 million.
Between July and September, Musk routed $276 million to his committee and Republican-aligned groups. That included $158 million for the Senate Leadership Fund, sent in two September installments that were passed to a Texas super PAC supporting Ken Paxton the following day, plus $10 million for Lone Star Liberty PAC, $20 million for a House GOP committee, $10 million for the Republican Governors Association and $2 million for the Republican Attorneys General Association.
The scale of this spending could shape how voters in competitive races, especially in Texas, receive information and advertising in the final days. It may also intensify scrutiny of how wealthy donors influence party priorities and candidate viability. Because the amounts are concentrated in a few groups, their spending choices could affect which messages reach audiences and which candidates gain momentum, while regulators and the public may debate disclosure and limits.
