ENNA solar-storage purchase, Navitas cell funding, and Chilean AES clearance

ENNA Group agreed to buy a 166 MWp Romanian solar project with 612 MWh of battery storage from CIC Green Energy Medgidia. Navitas Solar secured up to $20 million from responsAbility to support a 2.2 GW solar cell plant in Gujarat. Chile’s competition regulator approved a roughly $33.4 billion acquisition of AES Corporation by an infrastructure investment consortium.
ENNA Solar would take full ownership of CIC Green Energy Medgidia, whose Romanian project spans about 204 hectares in Constanța County. The planned 166 MWp solar array and 612 MWh battery are slated to begin construction in early 2027, with operation expected in early 2028 and output estimated near 266 GWh annually; screening and competition clearances remain.
Navitas Solar’s proposed Gujarat cell plant would add 2.2 GW of cell capacity to its existing 2.2 GW module business and encapsulation production. The responsAbility commitment, up to $20 million, supports first cell output targeted for July 2027 within a roughly $1 billion five-year investment plan. Chile’s regulator found the AES deal would not materially harm competition, though other approvals remain.
The Romanian solar-storage project could improve local grid flexibility and may create construction and maintenance jobs, while nearby communities might see land-use changes. India’s cell plant could strengthen domestic manufacturing employment and reduce import exposure, potentially affecting module costs and supply availability. Chile’s clearance may shape investment flows and electricity-market competition, with consumers and renewable developers possibly seeing gradual effects. Outcomes depend on approvals, construction timelines, and market conditions.
