Study: Climate Change Adds 20 Extra Heat-Stress Days for 580 Million Children

A new attribution study in Science Advances finds that more than 40% of children under 10 globally experience at least 20 additional heat-stress days due to climate change. Children up to age nine face more extra heat-stress days than any other age group, with the highest exposure in south Asia, southeast Asia, and west Africa. The study suggests these findings should inform climate justice discussions, as children in developing countries have contributed least to historical emissions.
