AI startup from ex-Infosys CEO secures $53M follow-on seed

Hang Ten Systems, founded by former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka, raised an additional $53 million in seed funding, bringing its total to $85 million. The round was led by Temasek's Xora, with participation from Mayfield and other investors. The startup, which advises large enterprises on AI strategy and software modernization, reports multiple seven-figure contracts within months of launch.
Hang Ten's investor roster includes prominent tech executives and sovereign-linked funds, with Temasek's Xora leading the second tranche. The startup's clientele spans global energy and healthcare sectors, including Saudi Aramco and Fresenius Kabi, and it reports rapid contract closures, with one deal signed within 25 days of first contact.
The company's technical edge relies on an internal framework called Hobie, which packages reusable AI skills for regulated industries. With a lean team of roughly two dozen, Hang Ten claims some projects require only a fraction of the personnel traditional integrators would need, though external parties still handle final certification.
This funding signals that large enterprises may increasingly trust specialized AI-native consultancies over traditional systems integrators, potentially reshaping the IT services labor market. If Hang Ten's productivity claims hold, thousands of routine software engineering roles could be displaced, while enterprises may gain faster, cheaper modernization. However, reliance on such startups could concentrate technical risk, and independent validation remains critical for mission-critical systems.
