Avengers: Endgame Encore Opens to $86 Million Worldwide

The Avengers: Endgame Encore re-release earned an estimated $86 million globally in its opening weekend, with $26 million domestically and $60 million internationally. The version includes extra footage tied to Avengers: Doomsday, which helped draw fans back to theaters. The re-release has pushed Endgame's worldwide total to $2.885 billion.
The Encore version of Avengers: Endgame added a few minutes of new material connected to December’s Avengers: Doomsday. Joe Russo described those clips as critical to the upcoming film’s plot, giving fans a direct narrative bridge.
The re-release opened with $26 million in North America and $60 million elsewhere. Its global lifetime gross now stands at $2.885 billion. Disney ranks this debut as the second-biggest re-release launch, behind Titanic 3D from 2012. The original Endgame arrived in 2019 and had a prior re-release that same year.
The encore’s strong turnout may show that theatrical re-releases with franchise-specific extras can still draw audiences away from streaming, at least for established fanbases. Movie theaters, Marvel devotees, and casual viewers considering Doomsday could benefit from renewed communal excitement and box-office momentum. It may also encourage studios to test similar limited-run events, though the approach could risk fan fatigue or complaints about paying again for brief new content.
