Honor Unveils Magic9 Pro Max With ARRI-Branded Camera Setup
Honor has launched the Magic9 Pro Max in China, starting at 6,499 yuan, with a focus on cinematic mobile imaging. The phone features an ARRI collaboration, dual 200MP rear cameras, a 6.8-inch 120Hz LTPO display, Snapdragon 8-series chip, 8,800mAh battery, and MagicOS 11. Its camera module uses a triangular arrangement inspired by cinema equipment and includes gimbal-level stabilization.
Honor’s new flagship arrives in China at 6,499 yuan, aimed at creators who want cinema-like tools in a phone. It pairs an ARRI-branded imaging system with two 200MP rear sensors, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED screen that adapts from 1Hz to 120Hz.
A 2nm Snapdragon 8-series chip, 8,800mAh battery, 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, and IP68/IP69/IP69K protection round out hardware. Honor’s 6nm H1 imaging chip supports RAW-domain processing, ARRI LogC3, and up to 4K 120fps video.
The Magic9 Pro Max may push more casual creators and independent filmmakers toward phone-first production, since ARRI branding and log video could make advanced workflows feel more accessible. Its high price could limit adoption in China, while competitors may respond with stronger video features. Consumers who value battery life and durability may also benefit as 8,800mAh cells and high IP ratings become more common. Professional camera makers could face pressure to explain their advantages beyond brand heritage.
