Pace Digitek wins Delhi battery storage contract from BRPL
Pace Digitek has received a letter of intent from BSES Rajdhani Power Limited for a 57.5 MW/115 MWh standalone battery energy storage system across four Delhi grid stations. The project involves about Rs 1.794 billion in capital investment, will use a 12-year build-own-operate-transfer model and is expected to be completed within seven months. It will earn a fixed annual capacity tariff of Rs 4.705 million per MW, bringing Pace Digitek’s utility-scale BOOT storage portfolio to 3.32 GWh.
Pace Digitek will oversee the Delhi installation from design through upkeep, covering four BRPL grid sites. The standalone storage system is sized at 57.5 MW/115 MWh and is meant to run when called upon. The deal uses a 12-year build-own-operate-transfer arrangement, needs about Rs 1.794 billion in capital, and is targeted for completion in seven months.
The contract sets a yearly capacity payment of Rs 4.705 million per MW, equating to roughly Rs 271 million in yearly contracted income. That lifts Pace Digitek's large-scale BOOT storage pipeline to 3.32 GWh. In August 2026, its Lineage Power subsidiary added a 2,500 MWh production line, doubling installed BESS manufacturing capacity to 5,000 MWh.
Delhi electricity users could see reliability gains if the storage helps meet peak demand and absorb more renewable generation. Businesses and households may experience fewer disruptions, though any effect on tariffs remains uncertain. The project may create short-term construction and maintenance work and build local storage expertise. Outcomes could depend on timely delivery, operating performance, and how procurement costs are passed through.
